Bleachers Birthday

For my birthday this year, I dragged a few friends to see Bleachers at the 9:30 Club. The band is fronted by Jack Antonoff, of Fun. and you've probably heard their breakout single, "I Wanna Get Better." I saw Bleachers for the first time this year at Firefly and couldn't wait to see them again!

On the (Fire)fly

Last month, myself and a few friends packed up the car and set out for the Woodlands in Dover, Delaware for Firefly 2014. Firefly is a music festival that made its debut in 2012 with just 30,000 attendees on 87 acres of land. Three years later, what is considered the 'East Coast's Premier Music Experience', has expanded to a whopping 300 acres; large enough to support the 80,000 festival goers over the four day weekend. This year's lineup was not one to disappoint with the Foo Fighters, Outkast, and Jack Johnson heading the bill. Other notable acts like Grouplove, MS MR, Childish Gambino, and Beck rounded out the festival quite nicely.

We camped out in the extreme heat (temperatures reached 95 degrees on the first day), woke up at first light in hopes of getting a spot at the charging station, and lived off of the ice coffee served on site. One of the best weekends of my summer so far and I cannot wait to see what next year's festival brings...(I may have already purchased my tickets shhh.)

Yes, that is actual Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins aka members of "The Holy Shits."

This was just one small section of the campsite.

(I told you I lived off of iced coffee.)

I had the opportunity to meet MS MR (you should totally check them out) and tried my best to make them laugh. (I think I may have succeeded...)

Jack Johnson and the Lumineers!

 Until next year!

Tunesday: 20 May 2014

Since this is my first post of the summer, I wanted to make a playlist. Something to get you in the mood for what is to come! Just like last summer, I will be posting a playlist every Tuesday...(Tunes-day).

I love music. It is an awesome way to motivate you throughout the day. So if you are getting ready for work, in the pool, or hanging out with friends feel free to turn on this little weekly bundle of joy to get you going!

This year I have decided to make the playlist available on 8tracks and Spotify. You can listen to the individual week's playlist on 8tracks or follow the complete list over on Spotify.  Enjoy!

Snap Happy: Sam Smith

About a week ago Taylor and I went to D.C. to catch one of my new favourite artists, Sam Smith, in action. Sam is from the UK and is featured on popular tune, "Latch" by Disclosure. He has already won the 2014 Critics' Choice BRIT Award before releasing his forthcoming debut album, The Lonely Hour.

I had fallen in love with Sam's voice when I heard his track with Disclosure and had been dying to see him in person. So, when he announced a small U.S. tour back in December, I wasted no time getting tickets. He had just released his first single, "Money On My Mind" and it was already burning up the charts. Sam Smith was going nowhere, but up!

THE VERDICT: Sam was absolutely incredible! June 17th and The Lonely Hour cannot come soon enough!!

Be sure to check out my Instagram for video from the night. You can catch me on my Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram between posts and be sure to follow on Bloglovin to stay up to date!

Indian Echo Caverns

On my spring break a couple weeks ago, I went to The Indian Echo Caverns. It is a cavern located near Hershey, PA; at the mouth of the Swatara Creek and was home to the Susquehannock Indians. The cavern stays a relatively cool 52 degrees (Fahrenheit) year round and is made of limestone that has eroded overtime.

My lab partner and I wanted to do something together over break and we received extra credit for the trip, so it was a no brainer! Here are some of the snaps of the day. (Excuse the lighting as you know we were underground lol.)

THE VERDICT: Indian Echo Caverns is an awesome place to take a day trip. On our tour there were a few kids and some couples having day dates; definitely a place for every age group. All in all it is something not to miss.

If you are in the area and want to know more about the Caverns, then be sure to check out their website: http://www.indianechocaverns.com

If you are a student be sure to print out a coupon to bring along; every penny counts! :)

Winter Survival

Alright, I am going to call it...this has been THE longest winter of all time. Since Thanksgiving, it has been nothing but buckets and buckets of snow, every week. The first few storms were cute, but now it's March and the weather forecast is calling for more this Saturday. I have had it.

Since I last spoke to you in January, it has been nonstop school and work for this girl. Waking up before the sun and coming home after dusk has been tiring. Today, I wanted to talk about some beauty bits that have gotten me through this minor ice age.

1. Revitalizing Eye Roll- On by Simple

I work in a bakery and am up way too early every morning. After seeing a friend of mine pull this little miracle out of the refrigerator, I was curious as to what was in the green tube. She stated that this eye roller was a staple in her morning routine, claiming she wouldn't be caught dead without it.

After trying it for myself, I, Kennedy Incompletemeproject, swear by this elixir of eternal youth. This is an eye roller that does exactly what it says on the package. It de-puffs and brightens eyes to give you that 'I'm alive!' look. Now, I'm the one telling people I wouldn't be caught dead without it in the morning.

Since I am always on the go, I normally do not have time to glam up everyday. With that said, I always, always have time for mascara, and boy, has Benefit got it right. I started using the 'They're Real' mascara after seeing The Londoner post about it last summer, elongating and opening up those peepers. It gives you the look of full lashes without the heaviness of layering up. I especially like it because it just enhances my natural lashes and easily transfers from day to night.

3. Mentha Mint Lip Buffer by C.O. Bigelow

Every year winter rolls around and my lips become like the Sahara. No matter how many times I apply lip balm, I'm always coming out with chapped lips, and it is just not a look for anyone. Once a week or so, I apply this lip scrub to do away with the dead skin and give my lips the much needed moisturizing they so desperately need.

I received this lotion in a Glossybox not too long before the winter began and have not gone a day without it. As previously stated, my skin dries out in the winter and I am always on the hunt for natural and long lasting moisturizers to use everyday. This moisturizer not only hydrates your skin, it provides a base the allows your makeup to extend its wear. This product can be difficult to get your hands on, when buying online, but ebay knows how to help a sista out.

This nail polish has been my go to for the past three months. It is a very simple, classic, deep oxblood/wine purple colour that easily transfers from day to night. Also, Zoya nail polishes have a lovely formula and quality brushes.

Those are my five winter survival staples... oh, I think I see the sun peeking through the clouds! I feel like spring is just around the corner...at least I am hoping it is! :)
