Tuesday Afternoon Procra-- Inspiration!

Hello everyone. Today is Tuesday and it is somewhat sunny at my house. I've drawn back all of the curtains and am currently lounging on the sunlight patches of the sofa. This is much better than working on my final projects for class *shakes fist* darn you procrastination! I just miss my sunshine and the feeling of warmth on my skin. So much so I've tried to convince my family that a quick holiday is not a want, but a need at this point! They aren't too keen. :( *Sigh* Instead, I will get by with the warmth of my laptop and wearing sunglasses inside.

Monday Morning Lust List: Statement Staples

Good morning! This week I'd like to chat about statement staples for the Monday Morning Lust List. Just a few pieces that I've been looking for to spruce of my standard black on black wardrobe.

1. The Floppy Hat

A staple in every autumn/winter wardrobe the floppy hat can give your bed head a etherial chic gloss.

I fell for this orange version from Liberty. And you know what they say 'Orange is the New Black.' (Great show! Watch it!!! I'll give you my Netflix password.)

2. The Bejewelled Neckline

I love, love wrapping myself up in a warm knit. There is just a comfort you get from wearing a sweater that you don't receive when wearing a t-shirt. It is somewhat easier to dress up a your favourite knit. You can always layer underneath or throw on a blazer or a statement necklace.

This beauty is from Topshop and it makes this lazy girl, one happy shopper. You see, I love clothes and autumn/winter is my favourite time of the year to get dressed up. (I mean, come on, everyone looks better in night lighting.) You wake up in the morning and dress in something that will carry you into the evening ( *whispers* because it is pitch dark by 5 p.m.) With a statement neckline you could wear this sweater to meetings in the day time and throw on an oversized coat and some boots for drinks in the evening.

3. The Oversized Coat

If you have been a longtime reader then you know I love my coats. I am that girl you see buying wool in July. The reason being, a good coat can forgive a multitude of sins. Food baby, spilt drinks, yesterday's outfit...etc. Anything and everything can be forgiven and forgotten with an oversized coat.

This saving grace comes in a lovely camel colour from Asos and is on the top of my wish list. It is the perfect shade to break up any black ensemble and it an awesome layering piece!

There you go another Monday Morning Lust List done and dusted. I'm off to class. Have a lovely day!

*All products mention are of my own opinion and liking. As you were.*

"Let's Hear It For The Boy..."

Boys boys boys. Oh, how I love a well dressed man. Menswear is a topic that is near and dear to my heart. I normally have girly chat on here, but today I'd like to talk about the opposite sex's threads. Here are a few autumn/winter essentials every man should (*cough cough* NEED to) have in their closet this year:

1. The 'I just threw this on top of whatever I was wearing, but it will still make you go weak in the knees' coat:

Like the us, ladies the menfolk need a staple coat to just pop on, on their way out the door. The key here is to find something that is less old hoodie and more structured comfort.

Note: Leather goes with everything...I mean it E-VER-Y-THING!

2. The 'I wore this twice this week, but it still looks good' knit:

Everyday knitwear is essential in the colder months, because not only does it keep you warm, it look effortlessly chic day after day. Here is a tip gentlemen, if you find something that suits you and there are multiple colours, do not be afraid to buy two. Women do this all the time. Heck, if we find a pair of jeans that fit perfectly in all the right places we will buy them in a least six different washes (don't lie, you know you've done it.)

3. Everyday Footwear:

Shoes are just one of those things...some people they've got it and others...are just a bit lost *flashbacks to the strict chunky skater shoe era* *shudders*. For men especially, footwear is not something that is always on the brain. Men are more inclined to chose functionality over fashionability. What you wear on your feet is just as much a reflection on how you feel as the shirt is on your back. (Girls and those Ugg boots, anyone?)

Usually, I am VERY against wearing athletic kicks, but there is always a time and a place. ****Know that time and place!

Now, those are just a few basics for an everyday autumn/winter wardrobe...I could go on for days. I mean we haven't even covered scarves, weekender bags, and trouser styles, but that is for another time. :)

Have a lovely weekend everyone and I'll see you next week!
